WATT-IF ("we," "our," or "us") operates the WATT-IF mobile applications and related web services (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

Pre-Scan Disclosure: When you initiate a supported room capture, the App may automatically collect several hundred to roughly 1,500 photographs of your environment, along with supported depth and camera-pose data. Upload of these frames to cloud processing infrastructure begins automatically once capture completes. By starting a capture, you consent to this automatic upload. You may cancel a capture in progress, but frames already uploaded are processed as described below.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials to provide access to your account and saved projects.

Capture Data (Room Scans)

When you perform a supported room capture, the App captures several hundred to roughly 1,500 photographs with supported depth data, camera poses, and a session manifest. The verified iOS RoomPlan path uses LiDAR-equipped iPhone Pro or supported iPad Pro hardware. This data is uploaded automatically to cloud processing infrastructure once capture completes. The upload begins automatically and does not require additional user confirmation beyond initiating the capture.

User-Generated Content

We store lighting setups, recipes, storyboards, and project data that you create within the App. This data is stored securely in our cloud infrastructure to enable saving, loading, and sharing features.

AI Features

When you use AI-powered features, M/mk accepts text-based conversational requests. Text prompts may be sent to third-party AI services for supported natural-language reasoning. M/mk's image critique and taste learning run on-device and are not uploaded. We do not use your prompts to train AI models.

Subscription and Payment Information

When subscription billing is enabled, purchases are processed by the applicable platform store. We do not directly collect or store payment card details. We receive confirmation of subscription status from the relevant platform service.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage analytics such as app feature usage, crash reports, and performance data to improve the App.

To process room scans through our cloud bake pipeline (geometry reconstruction, texture projection, photometric refinement)
To manage your account and saved projects
To process AI-powered lighting suggestions and recipe capture
To manage your subscription status
To diagnose technical issues and improve performance

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Cloudflare - for content delivery, DNS, and edge computing (Workers)
Modal - for GPU compute infrastructure (A10G and H100 instances used during the bake pipeline)
Supabase - for user authentication and cloud data storage
Anthropic (Claude) - for AI conversational features in M/mk
Apple App Store - for iOS subscription billing and TestFlight distribution
Android internal testing services - for pre-release Android distribution while device verification continues

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by Cloudflare (R2 object storage) and Supabase (PostgreSQL). We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded capture frames and processed bake outputs are not currently deleted automatically. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We are working on self-service deletion tools for a future release.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Object to or restrict processing of your data
Request a copy of your data in a portable format

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by other means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently revised.
